Gut health and the microbiome are popular topics — but sorting the science-backed information from the hype can be a challenge.

For nearly 12 years, I’ve followed the scientific literature in this field, interviewed dozens of leading researchers, and attended many of the top microbiome conferences around the world. I help clarify the science-based information for healthcare professionals and the general public.

In my media work, I am enthusiastic about highlighting the work of microbiome scientists around the world and how our knowledge about the human microbiome is progressing slowly but surely.

While I’m alert to how the research can be translated in to practical applications, I always put the science front and center.
